Bay Area Kiss FM Update

A lot of listeners in San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose and pretty much all of the San Francisco Bay Area lost a heritage Old School Radio Station. 981 Kiss FM, The Bay’s Throwback Old School was laid to rest on Wednesday, April 13th. Renel & Christie, Morris Knight, Lisa St. Regis and other heritage DJ’s made the station what is was.

I’m very happy to say that the Old School music will continue to live on here on Steve Fox’s Old School, not only for the San Francisco Bay Area, but the entire globe! You have many ways to hear us, on I-Tunes, TuneIn, Windows Media Guide, and our website here at www.stevefoxoldschool.com.

Thank you for being there for those of us who depended on 98.1 for our morning and afternoon drive home. I was at a loss for what to listen to and was going to resort to Pandora. I found out about your station, so this is what I’ll click onto before leaving my parking spot. 🙂

I wasn’t really sure what had happened, but on day I turned on 98.1 and it wasn’t the same. The good ole soul I grew up on was gone, or so I thought. While probing into what happened and searching the internet for that old school soul I came across you and your station. I ab(SOUL)lutely love it.

I’m glad that I found this site. I was one of the many satisfied listeners of 98.1 Kiss FM out of the Bay even though I live in Atlanta and never been to California. I really enjoyed the old school R&B along with the old school rap that they played. It’s sad that they changed the format and I’m pretty sure they didn’t do a poll to see what the listeners wanted. So while I was searching to see what happened to that radio station someone in their post mentioned this site. Needless to say, I’m glad I checked it out. I’ve been listening for the last two days and I love the eras of music that you play. There has not been one song that you’ve played that I didn’t know or didn’t enjoy. Keep playing those great tunes.

    Your dedicated listener in Atlanta

I was wondering what happened to my radio preset stations!! I kept looking at it thinking this should be old school funk and not this sax elevator music. Bummer for the Bay! Glad to have found you.
